CADBURY CHOCOLATE FACTORY - HOBART
HELP! I've been unable to contact the reservations office to schedule a tour for our upcoming trip. The toll free number only has 9 digits in lieu of 10. In the US we can only call toll free numbers with 10 digits. Any suggestions?
Thanks. Jan |
Sometimes you need to add a zero to fill out a phone number's area code (and sometimes you have to take a zero away!) Usually, if you call using international "operator assistance" they'll help you figure it out. It's more expensive, but you get through. |
Have you tried calling just a regular number and not the toll free one?
I don't recall having a problem dialing the number that was given??? |
Australian phone numbers went from 9 to 10 digits several years ago - maybe you have an out-of-date number?
From off the top of my head, most Australian toll-free numbers are in the format 1800-NNNNNN (no charge to caller) or 1300-NNNNNN (caller pays local call fee only). I would think that Cadbury's toll-free number (1800-627367) is only toll-free for calls within Australia. As Alise suggests, your best bet would be to dial their regular number, which within Oz is 03-6249 0333. You'll need to delete the leading zero in the 2-digit area code, so: dial your US international access code, then the country code for Australia (61), then 3 6249 0333. |
If you still have trouble, perhaps try emailing or send a fax? Or you can book at the Visitors Centre in Hobart just near the waterfront as soon as you arrive. Not sure when you are visiting, but Cadbury is closed over the Christmas period, much to our disappointment last year.

Thank you all so much for your helpful responses. I tried the email route but Cadbury reps said you had to speak to someone on their phone hotline for reservations. I'll try calling via Australia access code, etc. Also, a few days ago I send a letter to the reservations office with all appropriate info.
Thanks again. |
