Bowral hotel

We need a hotel in Bowral in Sept, just for 1 night.
I have come across the manning motel on WOTIF and it gives a reasonably good rate.

I want to be quite close to the Bradman museum and walking distance to Bowral center.
Is this hotel location ok?

Anyone stayed there?
As I said, it's for one night only and doesn't need to be a palace.
Or is there somewhere better you can recommend, budget is about AD$150.

Thanks

Muck

Bowral ain't a huge town Mucky, more of a country village and a hotel/motel there anywhere ain't going to be too far from anywhere else unless it is a newer one built further out.

It has been a few years since I was there and can't say as I recall what hotels are right in the town and not a village street where they are prominent from memory.

http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en...ns-to&resnum=1 indicates where it is relative to the town and Bradman Oval and I assume the Museum will be close to either one or the other.

Could be some flower shows/open gardens about on Southern Highlands late September if that's of interest and Bowral ought to have some lovely gardens starting to blossom/bloom if gardeners have had their thumb in action.

Ashes! Wah!

On tv in the middle of the night here - well, 7.30pm to 3am! Bah!

Bushranger Jul 8th, 2009 07:28 PM

You had better have something distinctive on that you can tell us about so we can keep an eye out for you, or maybe not and I'm sure a streak across the field will have you caught somewhere beyond slips!

You do not even need to worry about a bat or shoulder charge from Roy either.

What is it I ought to be looking out for Mucky?
We've got an ashes thread in the lounge btw if interested - http://www.fodors.com/community/fodo...ly-cricket.cfm

I'll be the bloke in the Glamorgan top and England hat.
Front rowm right side of the steps to the pavillion.
Probably eating a pasty or something.
:-)

Or If that is difficult which I suspect it will be I will streak at around 5:30

:-)

Come on England and Wales :-)

Bushranger Jul 10th, 2009 01:08 AM

Well seeing as you've already possibly headed off for the park, I'll have to google up a Glamorgan Top - one of those barber stripe jackets is it?

Just have a lot of sauce on six pasties lined up with a pot of beer beside each one.

Well I knew I should have taken sun tan lotion.

Bit sunburnt lol but an enjoyable day. Got a few wickets but not enough !

But it bloody rained which as soon as I saw proximity to sea [The Irish is it? of all places] and the clouds scudding about I was thinking this has the makings of a weather draw!

Those Irish eyes shining upon your lot it would seem.
btw, do they have competitive cricket in NI?, like a county team?

Mucky Jul 10th, 2009 11:29 PM

It rained at 4:15, came back on about an hour later with floodlights (Ashes 1st) and the whinging Aussie batsmen started crying about the light !!

UK is a smallish island many places arfe near the sea lol
