Bondi Beach Hotel
Looking for a recommendation for an upscale Bondi Beach Hotel for a night. Thx.

Have a look at the Swiss Grand,
http://www.swissgrand.com.au/ or Revesi's http://www.ravesis.com.au/13244.html How upmarket do you want to go? |
Does Bondi have anything up market, I have to say that when we went there we were really surprised at how tatty and run down many of the buildings were.
Is that still the case Margo? Muck |
Yep - Bondi is still a bit ratty - the place needs a complete makeover - but who'll pay?
That said - I like it - it's an interesting place, with a cross section of people, and the beaches are not as trendy as some of the others. Anyone can, and does, go to Bondi and swim, sit, walk, eat. etc. Other beaches are far more trendy. We don't know why nasdroveya wants to go there - nothing sinister I trust! These 2 hotels are the pick - both on the waterfront, although not all rooms are waterfront. Ravesi's may be noisier. Bondi is also home to my favourite big spend restaurant - Seans Panaroma - expensive but always wonderful, with great outlook - if you look past the North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club abomination of a building. |
A friend recently stayed at the Meriton Apartments in Bondi. They are part of the new shopping centre there. She was very happy.

I've also heard good reports about the Meriton Apartments. They are built over the bus and train stations and therefore very handy for getting into the city and elsewhere . I believe they have harbour views too and are across the road from the glamorous new Westfield shopping centre. They are actually at Bondi Junction not at the beach and you would need to take a bus to the beach ( about 10 minutes or so and quite frequent).
