Blue Mountains

Hi, myself and my boyfriend are staying in Sydney from the 4th-8th January, before we travel up the east coast. We would love to spend one of these days in the Blue Mountains! Does anyone have any tour suggestions or is it easier to get the train and just do it ourselves? Thanks!

It's probably easier (and cheaper) to hop on a train and do it yourself. This gives you the option of deciding what you want to see / do, without extraneous stops, or waiting for other participants on a tour.
Trains from Central to Katoomba or Leura, depending on what you want to see and do. These are commuter trains; there's no need to book. You can use your Opal card or your chipped credit/debit card, just like other public transport.

We have listed some of the places to cover in our journey and I am including the Blue Mountains also in ourAustralia tour plan. I am also looking for some more information about the place from people who have already been to the Blue Mountains.

Take the train to Katoomba and then use the hop-on/hop-off bus to get around the area.

We are having our baby with us, so what do you suggest - renting a car or using this train and bus?

With a baby, a car would probably be easier.

IVY Maria: Unless you are also the OP, please start your own thread. Piggybacking onto someone else's thread is not polite and causes confusion in responses. If you are one and the same - kindly delete one of your "pen names" and just post under the original. Thank you

@ Bokhara, Oh okay, understood. Thanks for pointing out that, but I was just looking to be part of the discussion here as I thought it will be helpful to me as well.
