Blue Lagoon Cruises
Has anyone been on the 3 night Blue Lagoon cruise in Fiji? Is it worth it?

We did the longer 7-day cruise several years ago and had a fabulous time. I can only say that you will wish you had longer.

I did the 3 day trip some years ago and absolutely loved it. The longer trip is in a bigger faster more modern boat which went further but I was pleased we went on the other as it is, I hear, more casual with far fewer passengers and less of the organised entertainment hype which accompanies traditional cruises.....depends on your likes and dislikes. I appreciated getting to know the crew, being able to suit myself most of the time etc. Either way, the islands and snorkelling, plus the fijians (especially children) are so wonderful, just do it! Don't worry about it taking touring time out of your stay in Fiji...the days are full of quintessential Fijian experiences.

Yes it is worth it and I would book it direct with Blue Lagoon. You might get a better price considering that tourism is down. We took the longer cruise on their small boat and visited their larger boat when it was anchored nearby. We did not like it. It was too enclosed and more like a typical cruise ship. We like being free to the outside deck and air. At night we left our cabin door open. Three nights will give you a good feel of the Tasawa island chain. There is not a great difference between the islands.

Yes: I'd go so far as saying you shouldn't go to Fiji unless you go on one of those Cruises. Then stay @ Sherato Fiji or go to an outer Island. Do the Cruise first. Frank

We took the 4 day Blue Lagoon cruise three years agao. It was good but I would like to caution you about snorkeling. If you do not have a lot of experience be careful as they do not have any supervision and one person almost drowned. Enjoy.

In reading the above posting I will have to tell you that Blue Lagoon Cruises is not for people expecting typical cruise ship pampering. This is for real people that can take care of themselves that want to see the islands and some of the Fijian culture. By all means if you are not capable in the ocean do not go out in it. Also, if you are really interested in snorkeling at least take your own mask and snorkel. If your foot size is out of the ordinary also take your own fins. We are never without all three since our masks have presciption lenses in them.
