Best time to do heli hike?
 

Hi,
What is the best time to do the heli hike? Morning or Afternoon. I checked with 2 companies in Franz Josef: The Guiding company said mornings is better while Helicopter Line said afternoon is better. So I am confused!

We are staying the previous night in Hokitika so reaching Franz Josef early morning would be a tight squeeze. However, I want to minimize chances of cancellation due to weather.

Which time do you suggest we should go with so there are least chances of cancellation? Also which company is better to go with? The guiding company seemed more flexible on rescheduling the hike in case it is cancelled.. so I was leaning towards them.

Well, the weather along the west coast is almost always a crap shoot, but my experience is that commonly there is a clear morning that clouds up as the day wears on. I would go for the morning.
