By good fortune I find that I will be in Melbourne pre Australian-NZ tour during the Open. Will be there during opening week. Found web site which was very informative.
Has anyone gone to see the matches? Will it be difficult to get tickets when I arrive, or should I pre purchase them ? Looking at the Ground Pass.

You'll have absolutely no problem getting a ground pass by just rocking up in the first week! You can probably get tickets for !most stands also.

From that weekend on it gets much busier.

Have fun! It's a great time to be in Melbourne but hotel prices are higher.

Thanks Margo. We at staying at the Langham. How far is it from the stadium?

Isn't the Langham just about the closest hotel from Melbourne Park? I'm in an airport lounge at present so can't check.

If it's the place I'm thinking of, it's only a hop, step and jump! I've often longed to stay there when we struggle back to our more distant hotel at 1am!

It's 2.2 kens driving and 1.1 kms walking - longer if you drive cause you go back over the river. Oops not kens kms
