Good for the Australians for sure. Not so good for us yanks on the US payroll living in Australia! It's getting seriously painful.
|
Not so good for Australians working in tourism, unemployment rate in Cairns area was 11% at last count.
|
Just blew through $1.10 USD last PM... www.coinmill.com
Clueless US Polticos of both parties debasing USD hurts everyone If US defaults on their bonds unlikely it will get lots worse. Increased AUD good for holders but bad for exports/tourism... Also tanking markets worldwide currently... |
It is good for those of us who are travelling to Europe in the next few months. The euro & pound rate are very good.
I remember travelling to the US and we got 47 cents to the dollar and 33p British to our dollar. Ouch that did hurt. |
US Tourism has been boosted
4 stars in big US cities now from in the 30 AUD range www.betterbidding.com Pretty awesome values... |
Since the exchange rate has done an about face for us in the US, may I be the first to say to all you Aussie's - - "Come on over the pond, the U.S. has the welcome mat out!!"
|
Bgale, that's very kind of you! I had a great time in New York in April thanks to the exchange rate. But I think the Pond is for the Atlantic, what's the equivalent for the Pacific Ocean?
|
The Billabong...perhaps?
