Auckland hotels?
My wife and I will be in Auckland in late October for 4 nights. Any suggestions for hotels? Looking for about 150/nt - We're frugal by choice but willing to splurge where needed
Won't spend much time in room so not looking for luxury ... want clean, comfortable, and accesible to walking in city and catching a few tours |
US$150? Have a look at TA reviews for Adina Apartment Hotel Auckland Britomart,
https://www.tripadvisor.co.nz/Hotel_...th_Island.html Also Heritage Auckland, Quest on Hobson, Quest on Queen, Waldorf St. Martins, Waldorf Stadium Apartment, Celestion Waldorf, Hotel Grand Chancellor. Rates generally go up on Friday and Saturday nights. |
On a recent visit to Auckland, we noticed the Mercure Hotel and thought it was in a very good position for wandering around the city and a few minutes walk from the ferry terminals.

We stayed at the Swiss-Belsuites at Victoria Park a few months ago. It should be in that price range and we liked the location. It had just opened a few months before we stayed there.

The Mercure is in a very good position but has recently upgraded to a 'Grand Mercure'. Rooms start at $169.
$150 a night is quite low. Avoid the hotel in Victoria Street (Best Western I think) as roadworks will affect access there and it could be really noisy. We have a public holiday on Monday 23rd Oct (our first after the winter so people like to go away)so if you are here then book in advance. |
