Transport from the airport to central Auckland and suburbs includes buses, shuttles and taxis. The cheapest way to go to central Auckland is the bus. It called Airbus and the adult fare is $15.

taxi is about $50-$60 - but is direct.

Could also use the "Discount Taxis" that maintain a rank off-airport but are available via phone call.
I think the rate is $35 NZD to central city.

The Super Shuttle, www.supershuttle.co.nz is another option.

I took a taxi last week and it cost $85 to town in pretty heavy traffic and $70 return to the airport in normal traffic.
