Are the Tahiti Islands(Moorea, Bora Bora & Tahiti) the most Beautiful in the world? And worth the expense?

I'm Planning my honeymoon in June. I've done the Carribean to death and wanted to know if the Tahitian Islands are as beautiful as they sound.
Thank You for the info.

Yes! I have been to Moorea once and plan to visit Moorea and Bora Bora this summer. The islands are truly as beautiful as all the pictures you have seen. These islands are what Hawaii must have been like before tourism. However, many people are starting to visit Tahiti, so in ten years, it may be a different environment. There is not a lot of nightlife. This is a destination for people who just want to relax; more active people should consider staying at one of the Club Meds there. One note: because of its proximity to Australia, this is a favorite vacation spot in the summer months (Tahiti's winter) for Australians, New Zealanders, and French. There may not be a lot of English-speaking people there at that time.

We found Moorea and BoraBora to be the most beautiful islands that we have ever seen. Papeete on the other hand was too busy and far too many people for our liking. I agree that Moorea and BoraBora are a more relaxing atmosphere, and are not for the ones who are traveling to be busy at all times. We felt is was well worth the expense and plan to go back again (as soon as we can afford it)!

They are everthing you've heard. I wish I could have taken a honeymoon there (34 years ago). It's very expensive but worth it. Don't look for a lot of shopping or nightlife. It's the natural beauty, the wonderful water sports. We prefer it much much more than the Caribbean. You will not be hounded to death by peddlers as in the Caribbean. Don't spend more than a day on Tahiti itself as the real beauty is on Moorea, Bora Bora, and Huahine which we loved for it's serenity as well as archeological sights. I read that the annual count of tourists to these islands equates to ten days in Hawaii. That'll give you an idea of how uncrowded it is. Feel free to e-mail me if I can provide more info.

Adam, we have just got all our photos back from our holiday on the islands of Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora and every cent we spent was worth it. If you decide to go, watch out about booking into those lovely upmarket resorts, they look wonderful but almost always are on their own and it is difficult to get to an alternative place to eat and you are stuck with having to pay horrific prices for your meals. We stayed at medium priced accommodation on beautiful beaches and felt like part of the local community.
