Apartment needed

I need a decent apartment for two people in Sydney from May 9 to May 16. We are visiting for the first time to see our son. Can anyone help?

Hello Hosie11,

I'm not in a position to help you on this one but, for the people who are, it will be helpful to know your preferred price range. Also, do you want to stay in the city centre, or do you want to locate yourself closer to your son's accommodation. If you prefer the latter, it'll help if you mention the area in which your son is staying.

Hi, hosie11!

In what area does your son live?

My son is living in Bondi so we would be looking for accommodation either there, the city centre or somewhere in between.

Hi, again, hosie11!

You are well-favoured with choices, as Bondi is very close to the city and well-serviced by both subway and buses. There are lots of swank waterfront hotels around the beach, but, since you're going to be so close to Bondi from the CBD, I think I would stay in a great area of Sydney and simply take the ten-minute train ride to Bondi. If money is no object, I have heard good reports about Quay West Apartments in the Rocks. If you want something cheaper, a frequent contributor to theis forum got a good deal on apartments at the Waldorf in Liverpool Street (not very close to the water, but only a few minutes to the subway stop where you can catch a train to Bondi). Apparently the Medina Grand, also in this area, has apartments also. I am sure that other posters will come up with some more suggestions for you.

Hosie,
Please note that the train does not go all the way to Bondi - it terminates at Bondi Junction and you then have a bus ride (10 mins) from there.

Have you looked at Ravesis hotel(http://www.ravesis.com.au/) right across the road form Bondi Beach and very classy. Best location in Bondi.

The problem, however, with staying right at the beach at Bondi is, as prue mentioned in the post previous to the beach recommendation, that you are suddenly limited to travelling by bus, as the train stops at Bondi Junction (not very far, but a waste of precious time if you try to walk it).
