Airfare deals

I'm looking to go to Adelaide sometime between September and November. My dates are pretty flexible, but I'm having a hard time finding cheap flights. I would be leaving from Tampa, Florida and am willing to fly into Sydney and catch a flight from there. Anybody know the best time to travel in order to get a good deal? A good time to book? Any suggestions would be appreciated! :)

I booked our November LAX-SYD trip about a month ago because I had specific dates I wanted and wanted to fly Qantas. Since then, the fare has gone down by about $200 pp (argghhhh). The qantasusa.com website has some deals going out of LA and then you can add on fare from other parts of the country, or if you have frequent flyer miles or can find a cheaper fare into LA, you could use that to get there. HOWEVER, be sure to leave plenty of time between your domestic and your international flights if you do them separately. Good luck!

Have a look at the Webjet website - compares Qantas, Virgin & Jetstar fares.
I just had a quick look and found $230 return Syd Adl mid Sept.

Thanks for the info! I forgot to mention that I can still get some student flights until the end of December. I found a flight from Tampa to Sydney for around $1010..is this a good deal?? I have no idea! Thanks :)

bbano, that I believe is an excellent student fare. Our daughter's student fare from Seattle-Melbourne is over $1600. She leaves early July to return late December and that is very high season down under.

Check out "HOP AROUND AUSTRALIA FROM $999" at American Express Travel at 1-866-AXP-6804. That fare is from LA but it gives you three domestic flights within Australia.
