Air Canada Vancouver to Sydney. Any comments?

We are booked (on points) from Vancouver to Sydney on Air Canada (economy) in April. Any comments regarding the flight and service?

On our return from China recently with Air Canada, we had a minor medical emergency about an hour outside of Vancouver. The flight staff and ground staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful in assisting us, getting us to medical attention and making sure we made the last flight home that day. A nice change from the usual inattention.

The hassle with this flight and toronto -sydney is the layover in Honolulu in the middle of the night. If you are unlucky you will have to clear us customs and immigation even if you are just in transit.

We flew Air Canada from Australia to Canada earlier this year. The planes were 737s with two/three/two seats across the plane. The service was good and staff friendly.
Our homeward flight was from Toronto/Vancouver/Hawaii/Sydney/Melbourne. The big pain was collecting all our luggage in Vancouver and going through US immigration and customs just for one hour in the transit lounge in Hawaii. At midnight, everything in the Honolulu airport was shut - you couldn't even buy a drink.

Do you mean 767!! Awful long way for a 37.

John, you're probably right! I'm known in my family for my complete vagueness about cars and planes and other means of transport. As long as it gets me there safely - that's all I want to know.
