Advice on Tours in Western Australia
 

Can anyone advise/recommend tours in Western Australia? I don't want camping/rough it type, but would like to see the northern part of WA. Thanks for all suggestions!

Help........hasn't anyone taken a non-camping tour in northern WA or at least know about them? Thanks!

Hi Kathy, try these sites out, www.westernaustralia.net <BR>www.saharatours.com.au/ <BR>www.overland.com.au <BR>you must also realise that w.a.'s north is so vast that sometimes getting from A-B requires some camping,but don't panic, accom is available most places, but you really should try sleeping under an australian outback sky make sure you don't go in the wet season though as flooding is the norm.Hope this helps.

Sue..Thanks SO much for replying. I'll check the websites you listed. AAT Kings <BR>has a tour, are they recommended? Their tour cost sounds pretty pricey.I'd like to stay at a station or two. Any ideas? <BR>

Hi Kathy, AAT Kings is very reputable, Ill do some homework & come back to you on 2nd or 3rd Sept. The only station I know of is El Questro Station. Talk to you again soon.

Hi Sue, Thanks so much for your info, I'll get at the sites later tomorrow. I hope to travel to WA in early February, spend time around Perth, Freo and travel South for a while, then about April 1 try to take in some parts of the North until April 15 when I return home to the USA. I'm just starting to research WA, BIG place. Haven't firmed up any gotta see and do spots. Open to advice. Thanks.

Hi again Kathy, <BR>Heres some suggestions for must see's in W.A. <BR>Valley of the Giants at Walpole ( south) <BR>Karri Valley, Pemberton (south) <BR>In Perth: Kings Park, Scarborough beach, Cottesloe beach, Northbridge Cafe strip, take a ferry to Fremantle, great shopping & fish & chips! Rottnest Island day trips are great. <BR>Heading up north theres Monkey Mia, hand feed the dolphins,approx 7 hrs drive from Perth, there are so many places heading up the coast, too numerous to mention, all the way from Kalbarri to Broome, a very tropical & laid back tourist destination where you can ride camels along the beach.How's that for starters, if theres any info you need you can email me ok.Next week we are off to Thailand for a week for a holiday. Kathy: <BR>Been to Australia twice. First time a travel agent arranged everything for us in November 1999. Second time, a year later, we did everything on our own. The biggest favor the travel agent did was to book us with AAT Kings. Great company. Modern coaches and knowledgeable guides. When we went on our own, we booked with them again upon arrival. Were very well pleased. <BR>We used them in Sydney, Canberra, Ayers Rock, Melbourne, Hobart and Cairns. <BR>WA is next. <BR>Hope this helps. <BR>John

Hi Sue & John, Thanks for ALL your info, my printer is busy copying all your valuable tips. What do you think about me (will be in AUS by myself) renting a car to take in southern WA; I'd like the flexibility it would provide, then hooking up with a tour for northern WA?

Kathy: <BR>Sounds like a plan. During our 2 months in Australia and New Zealand we ran into many, many single folks. Most of them women. It kind of surprised us. If you're worried about safety, I'd relax. They all seemed to be having a great time. Most were staying at hostels where they met like adventurers. <BR>John
