Advice on Fiji

Hi everyone:<BR>My husband and I are stopping over in Figi on April 27th for a week following a trip to Australia and New Zealand. This stopover is a &quot;last minute&quot; decision and we are overwhelmed with the possibilities. Any advice would be much appreciated. We prefer the smaller more intimate accommodation, snorkeling, sea kayaking, nice beach (birding if there is any - maybe too much to ask with the other interests?)Thank you. I look forward to any and all suggestions.

We stayed at Tokoriki Island resort for our honeymoon and we loved it. The food was great, staff was very friendly, bures were spacious and clean, and the beaches and snorkeling were wonderful. Their website is www.tokoriki.com

The family owned island that we like is Matangi. www.matangiisland.com Others like Vatulele www.vatulele.com. Both are very intimate and can handle only a very limited number of guests. At Matangi it is like having an island of your own.

If your budget permits, the Yasawa Resort is wonderful and very intimate.

how difficult is it to get to these places from the ariport?

It varies greatly. Some are quite remote and you need to arrange with the resort to have one of their boats meet you. Others are quick boat rides or even plane rides that are fairly regular, it all depends. Best thing to do is to find a place you like and then contact the resort to ask about their transportation.
