accommodation challenge port douglas

I'm looking for beachfront accommodation in Port Douglas (not outside) for November for two people. I would prefer an apartment.

The upside - I can book for 6 or 7 nights.
The downside - I want to pay 100AUD or less per night.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Many thanks

Hi there, You will not be able to get accomodation on the Beachfront for 100AUD a night. There are a few prperties one street back from the beach which may come in at that rate or a little over.
Marina Terraces is one place to consider.
Most beachfront places like The Peninsula, or Beaches charges from 175 to 320 a night. Also remember that in November you are in stinger season, so the view of the beach may be nice but you will only be able to swim within the stinger enclosures.

Best of luck.

Pauline -

I stayed at the Tropical Reef Apartments last August in a 2 bedroom with a washer and dryer that was just 1 block from the beach. Nothing fancy but very clean and comfortable with a very nice husband and wife manager team. I paid $640 US for 7 nights. There are a ton of little apartments - check the websites - www.pddt.com.aw and great-barrier-reef.com.

PD is a great place - have fun.
Martha
