Abel Tasman Lodging

We will be in the Able Tasman area for three nights in October. We would appreciate any suggestions for lodging in the area. Thank you.

RichMill -

There are several options - you can stay IN Abel Tasman, just outside Abel Tasman (Marahau), 5 kms from Abel Tasman (Kaiteriteri), 18 km from Abel Tasman (Motueka) or you can stay on the Golden Bay side (near where the Abel Tasman Track ends) at Pohara or in the township of Takaka.

You can also stay a bit further afield, but the places I've mentioned are the closest to the park.

Here are a few ideas, although I have no personal experience with any of these:

www.awaroalodge.co.nz/ (This one is IN Abel Tasman)

www.kaiteri.co.nz/ (for Kaiteriteri lodging)

www.accommodationabeltasman.co.nz/ (for Marahau)

This is the official site for Abel Tasman, and might help as well:

Forgot to mention that we've stayed at the following accommodation in the area and highly recommend all of them:

www.thebluemoon.co.nz/
(20 minutes from Abel Tasman Track)

http://www.cottagestays.co.nz/oldsch...se/cottage.htm
(30 minutes from Abel Tasman)

www.almyra.co.nz/
(30 miuntes from Abel Tasman)

I would highly recommend the Ocean View Chalets just outside of Abel Tasman. The chalets were very well kept with the right amount of privacy and spectacular views. You can check out my review on Tripadvisor (http://tinyurl.com/2q63ra)
