That's interesting Margo, I've often wondered where that road went.
I'm trying to get up to Mandurama in the next couple of weeks, so I'll give it a fly.

I like the old Ophir road to Orange, too.
Remember the first time I saw Abercrombie House, in the late 60's. A girlfriend & I were going to Sydney & had a flat tyre just near the entry gates.
We were in a new ute & I hadn't thought to get the boys at the garage to loosen the wheel nuts a 1/4 turn & we had the devil of a job getting the wheel off.
Naturally, just as we'd managed it & got the new tyre on, a couple of strapping lads turned up, tightened up the nuts, threw the old tyre in the back & claimed all the glory! haha.
I see it's been opened up for functions & visits now ( probably been open for years - it's a while since I've gone that way). Another excuse for a little excursion, I think.
