a nice walk in sydney
was thinking of all you guys heading over when i took an impromptu walk with OHfrom the Rocks area in sydney over to woolloomoolloo ( dont remember if i got the l's right so forgive me)ill go check later LOL
if you strike out towards the opera house but veer off towards the stamford hotel youll get to the botanical gardents ( just ask anyone) then wander through ( admire the displays of different turf this country once enjoyed - all dried out now) and have a look at the flying foxes hanging from the trees (theyll be moved soon so go see em before the treelovers relocate them - and fair enough!) follow the woolloomooloo exits and you will eventually come to the wharf area follow the street til you come to the most unassuming pie shop on wheels the famous harry cafe on wheels gorge yourself on pies and walk off the joules on your way home or you can catch a bus |
should read: harrys cafe DE wheels
apologies to harry |
Great part of town. In the Botanical Gardens, take a wander through the Sydney Tropical Centre, a glass pyramid in the Royal Botanic Gardens which recreates tropical ecosystems in miniature.

thanks sarvowinner - i did see the mini louvre-looking structure but was in too much of a hurry to get our pies!

That is a fine walk. You could add in a coffee stop at the cafe in the Gardens. And a visit to the Art Gallery of NSW on the way back.
Gold star with bar for getting the spelling of Woolloomooloo orrect! Cheers. |
no way - did i really spell that W place correctly? i forgot to check- even though i swore i would!
wonder what it means in aboriginal 'this will keep em amused'? |
