A fantasic holiday Thank you

Thank you every body for information for our big family vacation. We have a wonderful time. We have a little problem with quantas because we are stranded for a couple of days in Sydney , but we all think Sydney is a great place to be strandered. The time we spent in

Tasmania was not long enough as we all thnk this is a beautiful part of the world , fresh and clean and many friendly people. If I have an other chance I would spend many more days just driving and exploring this most beautiful Island .

We stay at the Swiss Hotel in Sydney , very nice. Sydney is wonderful. The zoo was a big highlight for everybody with the boat trip past the harbour bridge just fantastic. Katoomba and the blue mountains are a big day from Sydney, many people but very nice maybe better to stay there for a night to be more relaxing.

We think Uluru is very hot and dry and is a very big rock beautiful to look at in the morning and evenings . Many flys here but some one said you have to have them for reasons I could not understand really.

Cairns we think is a beautiful small city like Hobart and Launceston, very clean and fresh with friendly happy people this is what we love about Australia. We have many experiences in fabulous restaurants in Cairns. We Visit Japenese , Thai , Indian and seafood restaurants all very good and very cheap , I think the best food we have was in Cairns. From Cairns we visit Kuranda and the Tablelands very nice. Not so many animals but we do not explore the trails and bush at night.

The Lizard Island Day Tour is for us the most beautiful of all experiences, we fly close to the great barrier reef and the rainforests. We even see Manta Rays and Dugong from the plane. Everybody even the older people were swimming in the ocean for most of the day seeing fishes and corals , the younger ones spend the day with snorkels on the reefs to see the nemo garden and many big fish , swimming along side these creatures is amazing experience. The guide new every place to take us snorkelling and then later we walked to the blue lagoon and one other beach where we did not see 1 person, but the reefs and mangroves are fantastic for swimming and seeing marine life. The people at Daintree Air also very helpful and we give them our highest recommendations.

Many thanks to the people who sent me emails. A big thank you to Debbie from Cairns who cooked for us a huge seafood banquet on the Esplanade in Cairns. That was special.

Robert,
So pleased you had a great time and found some good inexpensive restaurants. It is often a complaint about the expense of Australian food.

You are right about the animals and the need to get out at night.

I love the Blue Mountains and would say more than one night is needed.

Hello Roberto

Thank you for a most interesting and delightful trip report.
I followed your earlier posts planning the trip and am delighted it all worked out so well for you.

It can be quite a challenge to plan a holiday that suits 3 generations and it looks as if you succeeded admirably. Congratulations!

Hope you come back again to explore some other areas of our country.
