4 weeks in Australia???
My wife and I are considering Australia for 4 weeks in January. Our thoughts are to rent an apartment in two cities and spend 2 weeks in each city. We have never been to Australia so we were hoping you may have some suggestions. Looking for a little help.

KC255,
May I suggest that you search this and other websites with your interests as the key words. Once you have done that come back with specific questions or at least tell us what your interests are. Do you want culture and the arts, history and sociology, nature and sightseeing or a mixture of them? What is your price bracket and are you prepared to self drive or do you want tours only? |
Two weeks will be a long time in any of our cities.
Follow Alan's advice, then we can plan your trip for you. |
At the risk of bias I suggest with 3 weeks you consider including Canberra, where you'll find a great selection of Australian culture - Aboriginal art, the National Gallery of Art, the quirky National Museum, the High Court, National Archives, all framing the expansive Lake Burley Griffin.
The city is also set against a stunning backdrop of Australian landscapes and is only within 3 hours of Sydney, the unspoilt South Coast and the Snowy Mountains. Good eating and bar/club scene too - think about it, anyway. |
I agree with Neil.

Neil, there is nothing wrong with bias. It only causes problems when not recognised for what it is. Can people do a lot of those things by public transport or tours or will they need to self drive?
For my bias, I would get them out of the cities to see that part of Australia which is unlike elsewhere. |
This is why we are waiting for KC255 to reply with more details, so we can give specifics.
