4 days for Great Ocean Road. Shall I include the Grampians?

Hi

I have 4 days (3 nights) in November to drive from Melbourne to Adelaide. Have my first night in Apollo Bay, my second in Port Fairy, then I'm stuck for the third. Do I carry on along the coast to see Mt Gambier and stay somewhere like Robe, or shall I go inland and see the Grampians and stay there for the night. I have to drop the car in Adelaide at 5pm the next day and am spending the night there.

Any help would be great.

Cheers

Sonia

Hi Sonia,
if you have time, the Grampians is well worth the visit. There is lots of wildlife and terrific walks. If you want to check out road distances, look on the Map Maker section of www.travelmate.com.au
Halls Gap is the little town in the valley with lots of accommodation choices, from hostels to hotels to camping.
If you are reasonably fit, try the walk to the Pinnacle, takes about 2 hours and has a great view of the valley below. Take some water with you. Also the walk that starts behind the Visitors Centre is easy and if you go at dusk or dawn you'll see kangaroos, wallabies and maybe emus. There are often kangaroos in the caravan park opposite the shops.
