10 nights on South Island of NZ and 5 nights in Fiji, is this reasonable?

This is what we have decided on so far. Does this sound reasonable? I would like to spend more time, but work does not permit it. We will be renting a motorcycle and touring the South Island on our own (itinerary yet to be decided on) and then off to Fiji to relax and dive.

We are using ff miles to get our international airfare so once the tickets have been confirmed then there is a $100 US charge per ticket for any changes. I have seats held right now and just wanted some opinions before ticketing the seats.

Thanks

Sounds reasonable to me, if that's the time you have. You won't see all of SI, but you can see quite a lot.

Have a great vacation.

Anything you think is a must see for the first time to NZ?

Sounds like a great combo to me.

As Jed said you will not see all of the South Island but in 10 days you will certainly see enough to encourage you to return.

On your Fiji leg make sure you do not get trapped on the mainland waiting for a connection out to an Island for your dive holiday. Given that you will not be able to dive on your last day there, check that you can get out to a good resort as soon as you land.

What would be the alternatives to this idea? 10 days is excellent. You can do heaps. YOu can also decide purposely that you won;t do heaps in favour fpr spending time elsewhwere

Were thinking about either Lalati or Beqa Lagoon Resort in Fiji. What do you guys think about these places. Our flight to Fiji from Auckland doesn't get in until 4pm, do you think we will be able to get to the resort that night or will we have to spend the first night somewhere else?

Must sees on SI are Christchurch, West Coast, Queenstown, Doubtful or Milford sounds. What are your interests?

Scenery, nice (scenic) roads since we will be on a motorcycle, whale watching ,skydiving, beaches, some hiking-not too much (my boyfriend isn't big on hiking). Just enjoying the culture/relaxing. Thanks for everything so far.
