10 days North Island mid December: Tips? Want to team up?
 

Hi there! I'll be in NZ mid December, likely starting in Auckland, and have around 10-12 days to explore the North Island. Will the continue on a guided tour (G Adventures) of the South Island.

I am grateful for any travel, lodging and food recommendations, and especially travel companions and/or meet ups, etc, as teaming up may reduce cost, e. g. of a rental car.
