YMCA Salisbury

I have tried to book 31 Oct - 8 Nov through the link given on this site (Asiatravel) and they have emailed that rates are not available yet. Any ideas what I should do next please?

Hi,

Never stayed there but if it were me I'd try and contact them direct.

You might find this link useful, and if you scroll right down to the bottom of the page You'll find a link for "property contact information".

Seems to have all the options you might want.

Cheers.

either contact the hotel directly by phone or mail...

rates will probably be available by mid summer on the discount sites....some were not available last summer until september....many rates change on nov 1 in asia...

I always book this hotel direct..When i recently booked...they took my reservation and then emailed me way later with the price of the room.

But i wouldn't panic cause October is a long time away..

Just go to their website and there is a link to their email address.

We just stayed there in January for the 3rd time with a harbour view it was awesome!!

I'd also call them. That's what I do when I stay at the Y in Singapore. I call and give them a credit card number and have them hold a room. I don't deal with their internet system. Happy Travels!

For Oct 06 I made a booking through their web site. Everything went just fine so I would choose that avenue again.

Thank you all for your replies. I mailed them directly and have made the reservation, although, as rhkkmk says, rates go up on Nov 1 and they cannot give me a total price until July. But no matter, for my peace of mind I have two harbour view suites - hooray - (and the bonus of a climbing wall for my keen rock climbing son). I think we will all be very happy there. Now I can start on the next phase.....

carolrh, oct. is a very busy time of the year in hk. lots of conventions, trade shows, etc.

if you don't mind, let us know how much they are charging you.

i had the harbor view suite last oct. and the room rate was $250/nite, and as i was checking out, they told me the rates were going higher.

i hope you get a better rate than i did. my friends laughed, when i told them i paid $250/ nite to stay at a y. lol

carolrh Mar 13th, 2007 04:57 AM

The daily rate per room is HK$2250 for October.

jules39 Mar 13th, 2007 11:10 AM

Carol I hope that is a typo!!!

rkkwan Mar 13th, 2007 11:46 AM

Why is it a typo? carolrh has a harborview suite, basically the most expensive room in the hotel. That will not buy even the smallest room with no view next door at the Peninsula.

lcuy Mar 13th, 2007 06:03 PM

Rkkwan- my first reaction was like yours, then I put on my glasses.... carolrh typed HK $2250. I'm guessing it should be either HK 225 or $250.

rkkwan Mar 13th, 2007 06:10 PM

US$1 = HK$7.8

or

HK$1 = US$0.13

HKS$2,250 = US$288

There's no typo. carolrh's price is about right.

lcuy Mar 13th, 2007 08:27 PM

OOps, you're right! I was thinking US $225 or $250.

carolrh Mar 14th, 2007 10:15 AM

I live in London - to me this is a bargain!

jules39 Mar 14th, 2007 12:19 PM

Oooops I need to slow down & read! I too read US$ when it was really HK sorry Carol!
We were in a harbor view suite last Oct but were lucky enough to get upgraded by the hotel when we arrived there. This is a decent rate.
Have a great trip and sorry again for not reading your post correctly.
