Yangtze River Cruise
We want to do a Yangtze River Cruise for 4 to 5 days during our 14 days vacation in China next April. Has anyone heard about MS Yellow Crane or Regal Cruise?
|
Hi Luiz and Margarida,
I do not know theese cruise companies, but I also want to go. Do you have contact address on theese two? I would be grateful. When do you want to go? I plan for May...with best regards Denise

We went up the Yangtze with Victoria Cruises last summer and had a wonderful time. Their website is www.victoriacruises.com
|
Is the Yangtze tour really worth 4 or 5 days?
Thanks.

Without a doubt! The stretch of the river from Wuhan to Chongqing is one of the most wonderful sights in the world. Besides which, if you don't see it in the next 3 years, you will NEVER see it again -- they are building a huge dam at the 3 Gorges that will flood the whole area and engulf homes, towns, scenary, etc. If you have the chance to go there now, you'd better take it.

Go! While we went with Victoria Cruises, I have heard that Regal is also a good company. As was already commented on, see this part of China while you can. Have a great trip.

As Emily said, the stretch between Wuhan and Chongqing is well worth taking. However, I suggest that you start at Chongqing. Then, you'll be going downriver, and the trip is one day shorter.

Chongqing is the best kept secret of China! go for it , the food is great and people there are extremely straightforward and nice.

Re: Yangtze River Cruise, etc. We booked with SmarTours for a great price at the end of May which included Beijing, Xian, Hong Kong, Yangtze River Cruise (Victoria Cruise Line) and extended to Bangkok for 4 days. On the cruise, there are stops in other places and a stop at the dam (according to their brochure). Suggest that Denise or anyone else who is interested try their website at www.smarTours.net. Hope it is of interest.
