YANGON TO SIEM RIEP ?
Is it possible to go from Yangon to Siem Riep (Angkor Wat) for 1 night/2 days?
If so, can someone please recommend how to do this? Can you fly? |

1 night never equals 2 days! It takes three nights in a place to get two full days. Depending on travel arrangements, you might be able to get portions of two days with one overnight, but it won't be two days. If you have any interest at all in the temples at Angkor, it takes three full days just to see the "major" temples.
Are you thinking of flying to Siem Reap from Yangon, then returning to Yangon? If so, be aware that your visa expires as soon as you leave Myanmar and you would have to arrange for a new visa to return to Yangon. There used to be a non-stop flight on Myanmar Air International between the two cities. I did a fair amount of searching and it appears it no longer exists. You can fly between the two cities on a number of airlines by making a stop in Bangkok. Thus, it will take more than half a day to get from Yangon to Siem Reap and the reverse. I'd suggest you spend as much time as you can in Myanmar. If you have more time to devote to the region, visit Angkor either before or after your trip to Myanmar or save it for your next trip to SE Asia. Get a copy of Dawn Rooney's book, Angkor: A Guide to Cambodia's Wondrous Temples to prepare for a trip to Siem Reap. |
Note that both airlines cited by Mr.W. stop at Don Muang in Bangkok. One other airline that does this route (also with the same stop) is VN Air.

I would call it 1 night and a half-day, or 1-night and 0-days.
The best you can do is something like arrive Siem Reap at 2:30 PM and depart next day at 4:00 PM. If you leave RGN the night before then you can get to REP in the morning but would spending the night at an airport. Same on the return. |
