I thought it had closed, so someone must be reopening it. Stayed there long ago.

The Yak and Yeti was a delightful hotel. It closed for a while, but I'd heard it was reopening. Check and see whether they have refurbished. Prior to the closing there were complaints about it being worn.

It's a great location!

feedback on tripadvisor isextremely positive and recent. the cost/night is about $70 in May for 2/delux so it seemed to be worthwhile and given its history, a fun place to stay with my daughter for our first trip to KTM. Also thinking of the KTM Guest House or International House. any feedback? thanks Jan

Hello Janak,
For your comfortable stay will be Yak & Yeti because it is nice and very quiet area because if you go to the Kgh areas there are lots of polutions by the musics, horns and many more...so you may visit that areas just by walk some time to buy some clothes because that's the place to buy the tourist things....
so Janak if you like to stay at Yak & Yeti Hotel then still there is two buildings one is new and another is old..and I think they have given the price for Old one because the Old one is little smaller room than new and newer is little more than US$75 but so nice rooms...pls write here if you need any further about this..

Janak, I'd absolutely go for the Yak and Yeti rather than the guest houses. No question.

This was way back in '87,when the Indian airlines flight from Delhi could'nt land in Katmandu due to bad visibility, grounded for 2 days ,we were hosted at the Yak & Yeti.
We were the last batch to arrive on the bus & with no regular suites available,I was lucky to get the presidential suite.Absolutely fabulous.

The Yak & Yeti is a fine place to stay. You'll enjoy the atmosphere.

Have fun.
