Xian and Guilin
 

I am going to China and need to allocate between Xian and Guilin. If I went to Xian on a Friday afternoon, on Sunday should I stay in Xian until 12:00 p.m. or until 3:30 p.m.

After Xian, I am going to Shanghai. If I arrive in Guilin on Sunday afternoon/evening, when whould I leave for Shanghai on tuesday.

Monday evening pls.

We don't like any risk to missing the flight.

Not quite understanding the questions, are you trying to allocate enought time for sightseeing in the 2 cities, trying to find out the flight time in between or trying to land before dark? Please clarify.

I am trying to allocate my time between the two cities.

Xian -- Spend Friday afternoon/evening on city center sights, go see the terra cotta warriors and other sights on Saturday and you can leave Xian at noon on Sunday.

Guilin -- Spend Sunday afternoon/evening in town, on Monday take the Li River cruise (3 hours) to Yangshou, stay overnight. Leave for Shanghai on Tuesday afternoon.

I am debating about cutting out either Guilin or Xian from our itinerary due to time constraints. Any suggestions as to which one?
We have a feeling it may be a choice of 'historic' vs. 'beauty.
