Would I have time to leave Thai Elephant Conserv. at 11 and make flight out of Chiang Mai at 2:05?

I am trying to catch a flight out of Chiang Mai at 2:05 p.m. The information from Thai Elephant Conservation says that we will be done with our 2 day training at 11:00 a.m. after the show. Will we have time to get to the airport in Chaing Mai and on a 2:05 flight? I really would prefer it to the 3:25 flight, but maybe that is much safer.
Thanks, Heather

I was thinking about this, but the website said that some people preform in the show on the last day. Knowing my daughter, I don't think she would want to give up this opportunity if she gets it.

I am figuring an hour from the Elephants to Chiang Mai and about 2 or 3 hours before the flight. So hopefully I will not be cutting it too close.

Thanks, Heather

I really think you need to be in the car heading back to CM by 11:00 sharp and at that time of day you should be at the airport by 12-12:15 even with a little traffic. Just make sure all your papers i.e. tickets are ready to roll and luggage is well marked in the little rush should it occur.

Also, I would arrive at Lampang at 9:15 AM so can feed the elephants before the show. You need 50-55 minutes from hotel to conservatory.

I am on a tour in CM and one day is the Elephant Center and Wat Prathat Lampang Luang. I am thinking about just hiring a driver to take me to the temple and skipping the elephant part to do some shopping instead. Am I missing anthing spectacular? Any suggestions? Or is there something near the Wat that I should also have on my to do list?

Sally. I am sorry I am no help on this as I have not been yet. We are going to the 2 day elephant stay, so we can have a lot of contact with the elephants.

In our opinion the shopping is not great in CM except for the Sunday market from 4PM-at least midnight. The nightly market is fair but no comparison to Bangkok. Proces though are slightly less in CM if you are thinking of buying furniture in Hang Dong the furniture center about 40 minutes outside CM city. But wood sometimes will crack if you live in a colder climate. Also, shipping costs are very high.
