WHO WILL BE IN BANGKOK IN NOVEMBER OR EARLY DECEMBER??

rs---we would love it....we could blame you for the way the world is now...just kidding...i suppose you could blame us...oops...
the 6th would be great for us...karen has suggested that we try a sort of quiet place like a hotel bar, early, before dinner time....?? the german brewery sounds like fun (carol always writes about it), but might not be great for talking and hearing for us oldsters....haha
i would be glad to host at the elephant bar at the marriott resort and spa....or we could go to the sheraton or the penn or the oriental or some hotel over sukhumvit way...??? in any case we should keep it near to transportation...
if we keep it informal, we just arrive as a small group and each pay our own tab, etc....keeps it simple and then do not have to consult with the hotel in advance....
we do not return to bkk until nov 22...gpanda arrives bkk 11/17, but may be going off immediately and return nearer the end of the month...
we may need to have more than one GTG which is fine with us and later in the month there are others around...
I GUESS WE NEED TO SETTLE DATES AND LOCATIONS AND THEN POST IT AND MOVE ON FROM THERE.....
i propose nov 6 at 4:30 at the elephant bar at the marriott resort and spa....easy access...skytrain to taskim stop and then the marriott boat to the hotel---leaves every 15 minutes--free...
this is only a proposal...any other suggestions are welcome...

You and I share the same birthday!! I am also a Nov 7 girl. Lucky you, having dinner in a lovely restaurant in BKK to celebrate. I will most probably celebrate MY birthday on a flight from FRA to ORD on that day.
I hope son, bradinbangkok, will chime in here with his travel plans. He will be in BKK from late OCT to early DEC so would probably like to attend a fodorites GTG.

Carole, If I remember correctly, there is at least one other Fodorite who shares our birthday! Yes, what more could I ask than Peking Duck at the China House!
Since you'll be flying that day, you should ask for a glass of First Class champagne in celebration!

Hey guys, just a heads up. I think you will be adding another person to those "cigar soirees"... Brad's father, and my DH!! He is now going to be in BKK in between our two trips to Europe this November. Me??? No. I'll be at home WORKING!! Only the "boys" get to play!!

There will be at least three other midwesterners (transplanted Chicagoans to small town Illinois) in BKK at this same time. They are all FOB's (friends of Brad) I hope they put extra chairs in the cigar shop!! Ha ha!
BTW, Bob, thank you for demanding my presence. I'm sure there are purchases that I must make, but DH and DS will have to take care of that for me. Duty calls at home. So sorry...
