Please note that favorite is not necessarily reciprocal.

OK may I suggest a place for drinks and snack at either the Royal Bangkok Sports Club or the Polo Club? The RBSC does have lovely open grounds with a nice open air area. The RBSC Polo club is more compact so I'll let you guys choose. If it's too hot then there are A/C bars and restaurants at both clubs. Prices are very good for drinks and food. From around 5 PM onward is a good time.

I don't know if I can do dinner afterward but there are many places nearby. Let me know guys if this is something that you would like and please let me know how many of us will want to attend.

Craig,

The Fuzio restaurant has change chef. It's now average and the weather is heating up so the open air dining is not that comfortable. For Italian my old favorite is still Zanotti.

I would like to suggest other restaurants like those in Yaowarat(China town) but I fear they will be close for the Chinese New Year.

Pook, I am sure any of these will be fine. I think you know better what will work well. If the RBSC is a place where we can do outdoors if it is cool, indoors if it is hot, then 6 PM is good for us for drinks and snacks. If we have had a lot to eat during the day or the snacks are substantial, that may suffice - we really don't need to eat that much.

Ken,

In Macau we were at the MGM and in Hong Kong we were at the Mira(Kowloon). It was raining the whole day on our first day and after that it was overcast all the time. The temperature was not very pleasant, sort of cool - warm, humid and wet kind of thing.

I would be very pleased to escape and go to BKK as RhkKmk's representative. What is the chance that the cheapskate would pay for it? I'd even fly in one day and leave the next. Three days od flying is nothing to get together with Fodorites.

Well, I got our dates wrong......we leave on 22nd. Are any Fodorites staying at Shangri-La right now?
Maybe we can have a drink this evening at Riverside Lounge Krungthepe Wing.

What a lovely GTG in the perfect place, thanks Bob, and the weather was superb as well. Low humidity, constant breeze and the ultra clear Bangkok sky!

Craig, Jeane and Smeagol were the perfect guests and we spent two hours chatting, eating and some drinking before we went our way.

I want to wish a safe and pleasant journey back home to Smeagol and then Craig and Jeane a day or two later.
