Who is up for a GTG toward the end of February in Bangkok?

I am thinking that late afternoon or evening of the 23rd would be good for Jeane and I. Smeagol on another thread mentioned availability on this date. Hopefully that date works for Ekscrunchy who should also be there at this time. And of course, Pook (Hanuman) who does not like to plan too far in advance, but hopefully can attend with his wife since he is local. Anyone else?

Any suggestions for a venue would be appreciated. We're staying at the Penn...

Craig I will arrive on the 23rd very late at night--too late to have dinner.

I have the following two nights.

If you are available on either of those, I would like to have dinner at Chote Chitr if you are game.

We'll it looks like we'll have a couple of GTG's while we're in Bangkok - no problem.

Smeag - we'd be happy to meet you at the Arun Residence.

Eks, we are leaving early AM on the 25th and have a longish day on the 24th with one of Tong's team. Therefore, we need to do something close to the Penn, if at all possible.

I can go to 1 GTG so it would be great if we can merge them.

OH i am gutted we can't all meet up at the same time.
Craig i thought of Arun off the top of my head just because i figured if we went close to sunset the views over Wat Arun would be great, however i am happy to meet anywhere and if Hanuman can make it would bow of course to his local knowledge.

It looks like the consensus is to meet on the 23rd (sorry Eks - we're still willing to get together with you on the 24th). Now we need to pick a place. Any suggestions from Pook or anyone else? The Arun Residence would be fine for us but it may be too much out of the way for others.

Agent Hanuman: Be prepared because your orders may instruct you to have a face-to-face meeting with me on the 24th or 25th. I will be in touch on the secure line soon. Please prepare the spread sheets with the swimming pool temperature comparisons.

If it's dinner, I had a very good meal at Ruen Urai a couple weeks ago. Classic Thai house, good food. Off Suriwong Road behind the new Le Meridien. Walk-able from the trains. I should be around at that time (I'm hoping to stay home in Feb. after a grueling January on the road.)

Give me a few days and I'll think of a place for an early evening cocktail with a view and dinner after.

Madam Eks - Should not be a problem for our covert rendezvous.

Since the GTG is currently planned just over 1 week after Chinese New Year there might be something left over from the celebration or festivities in terms of dining choices or something special for the China town area. Let's just confirm on the date(s) and leave the GTG venue until a later date if that's OK with you all. Anybody a "tiger" in our group?

Sounds Perfect Hanuman, sounds like we can leave to you (a view and then dinner would be perfect)So am guessing the 23rd it is then (with a covert meeting on the 24th for Eks /Hanuman)

Hope Michael/ Leigh etc can join us too.

Smeagol-this is too good to be true. A bore? Really? You must have been at your best at Cyan. I found you at least mildly amusing. Upgraded from a rat. Nice going. I was born in the year of the Panda. A very rare year indeed.
