Which Mumbai Hotel? Westin vs Marriott
Going for work the end of June (likely raining). As it's for work I can only opt for certain hotels and now it's down to the Westin or JW Mariott Sahar. The Westin is closer to work but JW looks nice and near airport? Any one have experience they can share? Thanks!

You cannot equate distance to travel time. You also cannot use google's estimates of travel time, better that you talk to people at your Bombay office how long it takes them to get to work. Even better, ask people in the US how long it took them to travel from either hotel. I personally don't like being near the airport. I stayed at the Leela many years ago and getting to and from there was a nightmare, but then I was visiting family in various parts of the city. |
I stayed at JW Marriott,Sahar, last May'16 for 2 weeks vacation in Mumbai.I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, it was a true 5 star treatment.
Though the hotel is near the airport, you do not hear a sound . Regarding your commute to work, check with your collegues, but cab service is readily available just at the front door. |
Among the two, I'd probably go for the Westin because going to work would be an everyday affair. The airport location is only useful twice in a trip.
However if you are really fond of the airport location, I'd recommend giving the Leela a look. It has the best dining options in the area by far. |
Westin it is, thank you!

I dont know where your place of work and time is, but I would recommend the Taj Land's End. Not far from the airport, close to the Expressway so you can reach the direction of Westin rather quickly in the morning rush hour.
Plus its close to the sea so you can stroll on the promenade mornings and evenings. |
