Winter is the best time to visit northern part of india. In the northern part of India you can enjoy the beautiful view of snowcapped mountains of Himalayas.
You must visit Hill stations in this season, some of these are Masouri, Shimla, Kashmir. Enjoy the best things To Do Their.

Hi,

North India is quite diverse in terms of geographical conditions too. So if you are talking about Mountain regions (himalaya) than the June-July and December to February are the best periods to visit these places.

However if you are looking for plane regions of North India i.e Rajasthan, Varanasi, Khajurhao, Agra etc, October to March period is the best.

Can you be a bit more specific about WHERE in Northern India? As the above response states--it's a big place with numerous regions. I was in Himachal Pradesh in June--perfect! But at the same time, Delhi and Amritsar (from which we traveled to the hills) were HOT! Also be aware, that when the weather is cooler, such as January in Del, there may be even worse than usual air pollution from the smoke fires.

We traveled to Rajasthan in mid-January to early February -- the temperature range was perfect (it never go too hot), but this is also a time that is notorious for fog in parts of the region. We were lucky that we were only minimally impacted by the fog but it can delay flights.

At this time of hot Summer, Himachal Pardesh is the best option for you. The other parts of India have much more temperate at this time. Shimla is one of the "Best Hill Station" and most visited places in summer's. Rather than Shimla you can also visit to Kullu-Manali. Which is also a good place to visit in Summer.

We just got back from the Rajasthan region of Northern India and early April is definitely too hot, but a bit more affordable. Our driver told me the best weather time is November, after the monsoons, and before it gets too cold.

Hi Nick !
If you are planning a trip to India especially North India then Winter season that is from October to mid March is the ideal time to visit. It is becasue you can explore most of this beautiful part of India where you would find almost every element of nature in its fullest and you would not have to ditch those area where you will face scorching heat like New Delhi and Rajasthan.
Intrestingly, as in this part of India there is whole lot of diversity in all most every possible terms like we have Jammu and Kashmir,Uttrakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Leh & Ladakh where you go and plan your itinerary accordingly in winter as well as in summer but not in rainy season but it must be winter or fall winter to explore Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and National capital, New Delhi, as summer will allow you see all those places which will left you spell bound like the very famous Taj Mahal of Agra, forts and majestic palaces of Rajasthan.
So yeah winter or fall winter is the best time to visit North India, hope you have a great trip.
Thanks.
