which hotel in Bangkok?

Could you please help us decide which hotel in Bangkok would be better for a 4-night stay in July? We are a married couple in our 40s.

Ramada Plaza Menam Riverside Hotel
(free river shuttle to downtown and BTS)

or

Centre Point Silom
(larger rooms, next door to BTS)

Which would you prefer and *why?* Thank you so much,

Stephanie

I don't know whether Ramada remodeled the rooms when it took over management, but if not, the rooms are very worn (this from a friend). Like all of the other riverside hotels, it has a shuttle to the skytrain which will take you downtown (no shuttle to downtown).

Centre Point Silom has the advantage of being a serviced apartment, and is very convenient to the skytrain and water taxis. Between those two, I would choose Centre Point, no contest.

You might also consider the Chatrium, another less expensive river side hotel.

Based on my friend's review of the Menam Riverside, I would choose Centre Point Silom. I've stayed there twice and found it convenient and comfortable.

I stayed at the Ramada shortly after it changed hands, and thought it was fine. But I thought it was fine before it changed hands too. It was a bit posher and definitely more expensive afterwards. I love being on the river.

Center point. The bus to down town would be time consuming, but the river shuttle convent. I think they have re done the rooms at the Ramada.. Kathy suggestion of Chatrium is excellent. we stayed there and loved it. New,big apts, river shuttle, nice views of the river. Use one of the discount sites for better pricing.
