Thai have direct flights to Denpasar but one way tickets are notoriously expensive. When you say you're coming back from Singapore are you saying you're flying back to DFW from SIN or you're flying back to BKK from SIN?

Either way it might be cheaper to fly BKK via SIN to DPS and then return DPS to SIN etc.

You'll probably need an "open fork" ticket or buying 2 sets of tickets with a low cost airline for BKK - DPS and then DPS to SIN. Cheapest way would be flying BKK - DPS one way with a stop over with Air Asia or Silk Air and then purchase another ticket for the DPS - SIN sector with Silk Air.

You can do all this online by yourself at the following websites:

I've tried doing a couple of dummy bookings and here's the result:

Option 1
SQ: BKK to DPS and then DPS to SIN = THB 37,550 or about USD 1,120.

Option 2
TG: BKK to DPS one way = THB 18,560 or about USD 550
SQ: DPS to SIN one way = USD 381
total trip about USD 931.

Option 3
Air Asia: BKK to KUL & KUL to DPS = USD 197.
DPS to SIN I can't find a low cost airline yet but you can fly with SQ for USD 381.

One-way tickets these days are half the price of round trip. The days when one-way prices were sky high are long over.

For the low cost route, Jet Star is my preferred option. They connect Bangkok - Singapore - Bali.

Michael,

"One-way tickets these days are half the price of round trip. The days when one-way prices were sky high are long over." I think that only applies to low cost airlines unless you have a secret source for these special fares? For example:

TG BKK - DPS return eco = 23,255. One way = 18,560.
SQ BKK - DPS return eco = 21,100. One way = 31,550!
