Where to visit near Singapore
My husband and I be in Singapore for a business trip in mid-April. Since we're traveling all that way, we'd like to visit one or more countries nearby, but we'll only have a week or so after the business trip. We were thinking about a few days in Cambodia to see Ankor Wat but are unsure of what to do with the remaining time (Thailand, Vietnam, Laos....). If anyone has an ideas, we'd love to hear them. Just a little bit about us - we're in our 30's, pretty active, and prefer nature/landscapes to big cities. We also enjoy photography. Thanks!

Angkor is certainly a good option. Indeed, I'd suggest you take the whole time you have for Cambodia. It takes a minimum of three full days just to see the "major" temples. We spent a week and would have enjoyed even more time there. But you can opt for, say, four or five nights in Siem Reap (that's only three or four days) and two nights in Phnom Penh. Really, a week isn't enough to visit two countries. Also, you might take a look at www.theplf.org for a reason to spend your whole week in Siem Reap.
Another good option would be a week in Bali. |
Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur is a 45 minute flight away. Then there's also Bali. I've flown to both KL and Bali, from Singapore, but during different years. Happy Travels!

I'd spend the whole week in Cambodia, or else 3 days in Cambodia and 3 days in Kuala Lumpur, since Air Asia flies you through there on the way from Siem Reap to Sing.

also penang and langkawi as a combo in the north of malaysia would be very nice....i would skip k/l... |
