Where to Stay Near Tojinbo Cliffs in Japan

We'll be visiting the Tojinbo cliffs in October. Any suggestions on where we might spend the night somewhere in the area?

I’ve made some notes on this area as we want to visit Eiheiji and Maruoka Castle.
I thought the best place for us was the Dormy Inn Fukui. We would use train, bus and taxi to make day trips.
This looks like a interesting area off the main tourist route.
Hope you have a great time and report back with your experience.

I stayed in Fukui when I visited that area - did day trips to Tojinbo and Eiheiji and Maruoka Castle as mentioned by kalihiwai2. Also nearby is Awara Onsen (haven't been there) and of course Kanazawa....don't know the rest of your itinerary....

Fukui City would be the obvious choice. It's also convenient for other sights if you are touring the area. Eiheiji was mentioned - Katsuyama is another gem - the Echizen Daibutsu is magnificent, and the dinosaur museum is very worthwhile.

Thanks! Any place in particular in Fukui?

I can't even begin to say where - only you know your own budget and comfort level. There is no shortage of hotels though, and many are close to Fukui Station. Try the usual booking engines like Booking.com, Agoda, or others. Or closer to Tojinbo there is Sakai or Awara. Renting a car is a good way to get around the region.
