Where to stay in Langkawi

I have tickets to be in Langkawi at the end of the month, but need advice on where to stay. I'd like a decent view, comfortable room (A.C. preferable), nice pool, beach in walking distance ... but don't want to pay more than around 100 US a night. Any advice the community can provide would be much appreciated.

Bon ton resort is simply fantastic with the the best food on the island... however if you dont like cats don't even think about it.
I have stayed at some pretty fab hotels but this places is something else. Its not super luxurious but unique, freindly and amazing staff,

Some of the places I though of like Pelangi resort are going to be way over your budget.
Frangipani ( it used to be called something else, can't remember now ) is great and should be within your price range, right on the beach, just about 3 star, rooms used to be quite basic but acon etc, nice pool, beach cafe plus main restaurant, relaxing. Rooms ground floor or upstairs in small bocks.

Holiday Villa might be within your budget.

You might be limited for choice as it's Chinese New year 26th January and I guess lots of people from Singapore etc ( I know Phuket gets busy around that time )

I would try within your budget for Frangipani if it's available

One of these days, we'll have to sign Bob up for a remedial reading course. The Datai is about 5 times your budget. I stayed at the Pelangi when it was a Sheraton and it was great, but I think it too is now over your budget.
