Where to stay in ancient watertowns (wuzhen, xitang, zhouzhuang)?
I will visit Shanghai in the next coming month and thinking of taking a side trip to escape a while from city life.
The small towns that interest me are the ancient water towns (xitang, wuzhen, zhouzhuang) and also hangzhou and suzhou. Can anybody recommend which water towns are the best to stay overnight? Which hotels/backpackers guesthouses are the best in such towns? how to reach that towns; by bus or train? what is the best itinerary to connect such towns? appreciate your help.
