Where to go in Asia for a beach holiday in August - No rain!
 
We'd like to have a relaxing week on a beach anywhere in Asia. Looking for a total break, but we'd like to avoid serious rain and have a bit of sun this August. What do you recommend?

August is a good time weather wise in Bali. The gulf (east) coast of Thailand Koh Samui, Hua Hin, Khao Sam Roi Yot etc. also has dry sunny weather as does East Cost Malaysia.

For detail on specific places http://www.travelfish.org/ has very good info. Choosing a resort very much depends on what you are looking for in terms of activity, busy or quiet, 5* or backpacker etc..

For Thailand beach island Koh Samui would probably suit, August is quite busy.
