Where Are You Folks From Hawaii Going?

Where are you folks planning to travel to between now and Mar 07? Anybody found any good travel deals? I can only get away for about 10 days this time.

Welcome back, Degas.

Do you like Las Vegas? If so, there are some good package deals here in Hawaii.

Planning a mini trip to Hong Kong, Bangkok, month in India and maybe couple days in Penang.

Got great tips from RHKKMK, Lcuy, Bonita, Bostontraveler, Cicerone, Craig, Jeremie, MassageDiva, WelltraveledBrit and others for India.
Thank you!

Aloha Degas:

We are in San Frnacisco right now doing some Christmas Shopping and eating :)
on a United Mele Kalikimaka fare of 236.00 r/t.

Check the Sunday Advertiser as I have seen a lot of specials for Japan and SE Asia in the spring for low 400's to 600's r/t.

Aloha!

Also, Australia is cheap right now on jet (or is it jetstar?)'s new route.

We head off to Thailand, Cambodia, and Hong Kong next week. Didn't get any good deals, but at least we're going!

Ho, HT at that ticket price you must be eating very well! Have fun! I'll be thinking of you and L when we get to Prince D'Angkor!

lcuy;

Have a great time in SR and a Happy Holidays!

I taught Ponheary what Aloha & Mahalo means so you might spring them on her. She picks up languages very quickly and seemed very eager to learn the little Hawaiian I could teach her.

Aloha!

Hi Gang

Funny you say Vegas. The guys on the radio that I listen to each morning talk constantly about so many folks from Hawaii going there.

$236 to SF sounds great.

A March trip to SE Asia may be in the cards for us.

hawaiiantraveler: I know what you can eat here but what do you shop for?

I do know a little about what Melissa bought here in summer but she's heading to Vegas for Xmas.

Shanghai:

The Great Mall in Milpitas is a always a good start for us for gifts. Lots of higher end outlets that we don't have in HI. Love the Union Square area. Any good suggestions are appreciated!

Aloha!

HT: The new Westfield Centre expansion with Bloomingdale adjacent to Nordstrom on Market Street across from the Powell Street cable car turnaround is dazzling, has all the name stores (not outlets), a few of the European boutiques are 1st time entries into the U.S. The underground food court is amazing, not only food to consume but to purchase and take home. Top floor is a mega movie complex with the most comfy seats in SF. Next door from Juicy Couture is Old Navy and Gap is across the street next to Anthropologie.

The Ferry Building at the beginning of Market Street is another stunning indoor market place with unique northern California products. I believe most Hawaiian folks like to hang out at the wine bar there.

We are going to the Big Island in Feb, do you live in Oahu? I love to lurk around Shanghai Tang, unique but kinda expensive, I wore an ice blue knit top and added a red sash I bought from S/T in HongKong to our co. party last week.

Shanghai:

Thanks for the tips!

We did the Westfield Ctr on Sunday in the lovely cold rain .

Never been to the Ferry building but the wine bar sounds like our kind of place :).

We live on Oahu with Melissa and Lcuy to keep us sane, lol.

Aloha!

HT: Don't know how long you are staying and where, perhaps next time you're in SF we can arrange a GTG, or GTG somewhere in Asia?

MelissaHI Dec 13th, 2006 02:00 PM

ha ha! Well, not literally living WITH us, that might make you insane!!

Shanghainese: If you come to Oahu, we are opening a shop called Ang Namsilk and the (Chinese) owner claims it will be like Shanghai Tang, only more affordable. we'll see.

Shanghainese Dec 13th, 2006 02:32 PM

Thanks Melissa, let me know when it opens.

You know I can work for you or work with you but "live WITH"? I guess you folks all live on the same island.

lcuy Dec 13th, 2006 04:08 PM

Well, all our grass shacks are on the same beach... And we often share hula skirts. HT looks particularly fetching in one of melissa cellophane numbers...

NO, NO of course I'm joking!!!

When will Ang Namsilk open? sounds nice!

hawaiiantraveler Dec 13th, 2006 05:08 PM

hahahaha

Sorry degas for highjacking your thread.

Shanghai....we leave in the morning but would love to gtg in the future. Some of us might gtg in Tokyo early April.

Mel...ahhh then life would be a dream...

Lcuy....you said you weren't going to tell about the cello... :)

Aloha!
