When is best time of year to travel to Thailand

We are going to Thailand,Cambodia, Laos and Hanoi next year. When is the best time to travel? Don't want the heat or the crowds. It seems that Nov- march are the best times but when in that time frame?
We are starting in Bangkok, then Angkor then Chiang Mai, Luang Prabang and finally Hanoi. Does that make sense given flights and connections?

It would make better flight sense to piece the trip together using nonstop flights. That can be done in this order...Bangkok - Chiang Mai - Luang Prabang - Siem Reap - Hanoi OR Bangkok - Chiang Mai - Siem Reap - Luang Prabang - Hanoi. www.bangkokair.com will be helpful. A Discovery Airpass will save you money.

Depending on how many days you have total, you may want to consider eliminating one or more destinations. A minimum of 3 full days in each place plus travel days between each place makes your proposed list a rushed 3 week trip. There is nowhere on your list that you could reasonably do fewer than 3 days, imo, but more than 3 days in each place would be very easy and nice. So if your time is limited, I recommend cutting stops rather than racing through.

Also, with the exception of Hanoi and Chiaing Mai a bit, it's hot and humid year round really. All places are crowded...crowds (and prices) being highest during high season...November - April.

For the best weather I would plan for travelling from mid December until mid January. This period will be the coolest and with the least humidity. As Kim said it will be the busiest time of year as well as being the most expensive for hotels.

The driest, coolest and most pleasant period to visit Bangkok is early November thro' early March.

The best time to visit Thailand is December. It's overcast but it's not hot it's perfect. DO not go during summer! Even at night it's so hot you just can't breath.

We went in early Nov, and it was hot and humid. ((*))

in thailand and cambodia it is always hot and humid...decthru jan are the least hot...you cannot escape the h&h...

dec 20-jan 5 are the most expensive times for hotels...

It's not that humid, in Bangkok, when I'm there from mid December to the first week in January. When I've landed it has even been 65 degrees out with almost no humidity. I remember the pilot announcing the temperature. Many times during the three weeks I've been there it wasn't that humid. It was definitely manageable. Happy Travels!

I think the best compromise for temperature & crowds is late October/early November. Its getting cooler by then, but the big crowds aren't there yet.

The best time to visit Thailand, would be November to February. That is Winter in Thailand, the weather is good. There are also number of occasional. It is happy time to come.
