What site to use to book Siem Reap hotels?
 

I tried huahin.20m site and sawadee to find Cambodia hotel rates, but they didn't list Cambodia. They did take me to another site, but I'm wondering if there are others.

no we had another guy that i would not really suggest to anyone....some have had trouble with him...

If you use Ponheary, she can get you better rates than ANY of the hotel sites.

Yes if you are going to use Ponheary as a guide then she can get good rates through the travel agency she uses. Whether the rates are any better than other internet hotel sites is debatable.

Yes, we're still thinking of taking the kids to Cambodia, but I haven't totally decided. I just don't want to wait too long to book Ponheary, although its not until next July. That's a good point about booking hotels through her. However, I'd love to stay at the Hotel de la Paix (saw it in Architectural Digest) but don't know if Ponheary would recommend it. I read that her family has a guest house.

I'd love to attend the Boston GTG, but don't think we can make it as my husband works Saturdays and my daughter has skating practice (we were just in Hingham this week for a competition). Any chance you can have the next GTG on a Sunday?

maybe, but that is hard for our loyal people who come from HI, CA, MI, etc...

tnnc, while Ponheary owns a guesthouse, almost all of the people on the forum who have used her to book hotels have stayed elsewhere. She is able to get good rates at many of the hotels in Siem Reap.

I believe I read on another thread that Ponheary is now able to book you at the Hotel DLP. Whether she would "recommend" it is another question entirely. Although I had heard that it is Cambodian-owned, when we were there in February Ponheary told us that it is not. For that reason and the fact that it is very expensive by Cambodian standards, she would probably not recommend it. That being said, we stayed there anyway and enjoyed it and our time with Ponheary immensely.

I have read de la Paix is owned by a Cambodian entrepreneur but managed by Sanctuary Resorts, a foreign company.
