What's the best food product you've brought back from another country?

What are some fun, tasty, interesting food products you've brought back from your travels? I always bring back the local coffee and tea, because they travel well. What did you find?

Coffe and tea are good bets. I love it when I can find vanilla beans. I often bring back spices, both whole spices (like nutmegs and cinnamon sticks) and spice mixtures like local curry powders.

The gold leaf is definitely cool, and it is not expensive. They say that the gold attracts impurities in your body as it passes through your system and is therefore cleansing. Kanazawa produces 98% of the gold leaf in Japan.

But my favorite food products are blocks of peanut sauce from Bali...no label, looks like a brown sticky block of .... but the taste is just excellent and we haven't been able to replicate it from scratch.

Another is red pork marinade from Thaiiland. Comes in an envelope, mix it with water and meat and marinade then grill. Best barbecue fare we've served.

Stoli vodka and caviar from Russia. It was dirt cheap but this was back in 1993. It's probably changed a lot since then.

Bebinca is a kind of pudding made with eggs yolks, coconut milk and sugar, typical of Goa. It's DELICIOUS, not good for the cholesterol though !
