What is the best hotel that gives a reasonable rate - Bangkok?

I'm planning to take my family to Bangkok for the first time and I would like to ask you guys what hotel is good? Prefer staying in the central of Bangkok, possibly around Nana Road. I have been looking at President Solitaire, President Palace and Grand President, what do you guys think is it good? (I HAVE A 7 YEAR OLD)

Depends what you consider a reasonable rate. Reasonable to one might be $100, to another it is $300?

What is your definition of best? What is your definition of reasonable?

It sounds like you may prefer a serviced apartment. One of the regulars here like Adelphi Suites. Friends who have looked at the President apartments have not been impressed. Adelphi Suites is near the Nana skytrain stop.

nana rd???

the president chain is ok, but at the lower end of the scale...

pls be more specific with your question... price?? location?? etc..

nana is not the area I would generally think of as kid friendly...

I wondered about that, too. You emphasize that you have a 7 year old but ask for a hotel in a well-known "adult entertainment" area. Yes, you can avoid that, even staying in Nana, but as Bob says, not the best area for a child.

I'm guessing this is your first trip to Bangkok. What is it you want to do/see/experience on this trip? How long will you be there? What is your budget per night for a hotel/apartment?

Grande President was very nice.... but that was 10 years ago. Cannot comment on the other "President" hotel/apartment buildings.

i've stayed at the grand president many times, in all three wings. its a nice hotel, good location, great breakfast. i also viewed the rooms at the president palace, next door, and its also very nice. its a newer hotel. the solitaire is too far down on soi 11, and i don't recco staying there.

if you want the nana area, i recently stayed at the majestic grande on soi 2. its a very nice property, and i recco it for you and your family. if you walk down soi 2, you avoid all the excitement of soi 4.

i also stayed at 39 boulevard suites, side street off soi 39, sukhumvit. i recently saw a room rate of $55/day on agoda.com. i had a large one bedroom with full kitchen including a washer during a recent stay. if you want value, this might be the property for you. they have a shuttle to phrom phong bts station every half hour.

majestic grande is very nice, good restaurant on a quiet street... still in the general nana area

We last stayed at the Aloft on SUK Soi 11 which is not far from Nana and loved it. Great VFM, excellent, well laid out rooms and very modern in style.
