In preparing for travel in some Hot, 3rd world countries I need new sport/sandals. My Teva's look pretty shabby and quite frankly I"m sick of them.

My husband says I should not throw them out but frame them with a list of places they have visited.

I am looking for something Very CUTE, comfortable and practical (something I could wash out in the sink at night).

I figure the amount they get worn I won't worry about the cost cause I want good ones.

Any suggestions???

I'm barefoot. Would work for you too, as going barefoot would probably meet all of your stated criteria. As long as you don't have some nasty warts or something on your feet and assuming that you are limber enough to raise your foot to the sink.

You need to go to a store that sells comfortable walking shoes/sandals. There are many excellent brands. Which works for you depends on your feet. I have some Mephistos, some Eccos, some Tevas... and note that different styles within the same brand often fit differently.

I'd say just your good ole' reef flip flops, some sneakers and possibly a pair of chacos.

you can have your Tvas and wear them still...Have you looked at teva ventura cork style? Heavy suede leather in bright colors,green,coral,red brown, black. They have all the comfort of your old standbys and durrability. I have waded thru the rains of BKK and gone to dinner at the Penn that same night in mine. They are slightly dressier. They are sold thru Travelsimth as "city sandles" or on line,(google TEVA) or at any GOOD shoe store. Not a cut rate place. Happy walking

I recently bought a pair of Keen Venice H2s for my SEA trip. This was the first time I had tried something besides Tevas in about ten years and I was very happy with them. The toe protection is priceless. Although, I don't know if they qualify as "cute".

I've just bought some keens which I really like.

Just in case you're a women with a small foot,(6 or 7) I discovered that they have some large Youth sizes which I bought...they were half the price of the women's keens!

I was doing some light hiking so I bought a pair of low cut, light weight North Face hiking shoes and for wearing around the hotel - I bought a pair of soccer sandals. This suited me well for Hong Kong, Bangkok and Bhutan.
