What is a 'hob'? (Thailand)

A Chiang Mai hotel description stated that the room had "microwave oven and a hob". What is a hob? Thanks.

I am actually curious as to the hotel that offers this? Do you get an actual kitchenette? Would be interesting to know.

yes, that is strange amenity to offer. if hotel made of wood, make sure smoke detector works or bring one. you know us drunks come in late at night and try to cook something then fall asleep while still cooking, lol.
